Mirage

Mirage by Helen Morgan

My figure compromised
and for this thought
a thousand times over
I thought I’d caught it.

Cascades of space,
a pocket full of colour
makes a world
echoing around amber nectar.

From the granite of core
shining into the unknown,
a raising motion
spreading to the organic edge.

The repressed filters in,
a still common bird waits
by the fizz and spark,
space age by the lake.

A phoenix flying,
colours verve like the amplification of sound,
elements fragment,
the surface melts and soul releases.
